The Brief

Madri Beer launched a Summer 2025 events programme across pubs in and around Belfast, designed to bring the brand to life through vibrant, in-person experiences.

Phil Smyth Photography was commissioned to capture the energy, atmosphere, and social moments of these activations, producing imagery that formed a central part of Madri Beer’s customer engagement and social media strategy.

The photography needed to be energetic, authentic, and instantly recognisable as Madri Beer, while being optimised for social media use.

The Challenge

The programme involved multiple live events across different venues, each with unique environments and audiences. Key challenges included:

  • Capturing spontaneous, high-energy moments in busy pub settings
  • Balancing brand presence with natural, candid storytelling
  • Delivering imagery quickly to maintain social media momentum
  • Ensuring consistency across a multi-event summer campaign

The Approach

Social-First Capture

Photography was planned with end use in mind, prioritising moments that would perform strongly across social media platforms.

Live, Unobtrusive Coverage

Working seamlessly within live pub environments allowed genuine customer interactions and atmosphere to be captured without disrupting events.

Fast Turnaround

Edited imagery was delivered quickly, enabling Madri Beer to share content while events were still live and relevant.

The Impact

The photography became a key asset across Madri Beer’s social media channels, helping to:

  • Increase audience engagement
  • Extend the life of live events beyond the venues
  • Strengthen brand personality and relevance
  • Support a step-change in how the brand connected with customers
